Red Pepper Exports from Türkiye Rise in First Quarter of 2026
Türkiye’s red pepper exports increased in the first quarter of 2026, reflecting steady international demand for one of the country’s well-known agricultural products.
According to data compiled by Anadolu Agency from the records of the Southeast Anatolia Exporters Associations, Türkiye exported red pepper worth $3.77 million between January and March 2026. This marked an increase from $3.62 million recorded in the same period a year earlier.
The latest figures indicate continued momentum in overseas sales, as Türkiye expands its reach in global food and spice markets.
Export Performance
The first-quarter performance shows a year-on-year rise in red pepper exports, with shipments reaching 66 countries during the January-March period.
The broad geographic spread of exports highlights the resilience of demand for Turkish-origin spices across multiple markets. Red pepper, widely used in both household consumption and food manufacturing, remains an important value-added agricultural export item for Türkiye.
For comparison, Türkiye’s total red pepper exports for the whole of the previous year stood at $14.11 million.
Leading Markets
Germany was the largest destination for Turkish red pepper exports in the first three months of 2026, with outbound sales totaling $805,000.
The Netherlands ranked second, with imports valued at $565,000, while the United Kingdom came third at $372,000.
These figures underline the importance of European markets for Türkiye’s spice exporters, particularly in countries with well-established ethnic food segments, food processing industries, and strong retail demand for international ingredients.
Industry Outlook
The rise in first-quarter exports suggests that Türkiye’s red pepper sector has maintained a positive trajectory at the start of 2026.
For exporters, the increase offers an encouraging signal amid broader efforts to strengthen Türkiye’s position in agricultural trade and processed food exports. Continued access to diversified markets is likely to remain a key factor in sustaining growth over the rest of the year.
